Pregnant women

Although pregnancy is a magical time, it does bring its share of discomfort. During this period, the body of the pregnant woman goes through several changes and tries to adapt to them. These modifications include changes in posture, imbalance of the core muscles, compression of blood vessels and organs, and increased secretion of pregnancy hormones (estrogen, progesterone, and relaxin). These hormones cause changes in tissue, for example, by relaxing ligaments and making joints more mobile. These multiple variations can lead to pain in the lumbar, pelvic, spinal and leg regions. Osteopathic care helps maintain good pelvic mobility. Thus, osteopathy makes the pregnancy experience more pleasant and facilitates childbirth and postpartum recovery.
